Ragnarök

My own invention! Brennivin is a caraway flavored aquavit from Iceland, combined with the somewhat salty Fino Sherry and tempered with a little toni.

The Ragnarök Cocktail

Ingredients
  

  • 40 cl Brennivin Ideally straight from the freezer
  • 20 cl Fino Sherry
  • 60 cl Indian Tonic Water

Equipment

  • 1 Shaker

Method
 

  1. Combine Brennivin and Sherry in a shaker with ice; shake vigorously
  2. Strain into a highball glass
  3. Add tonic water

  • 4 whole Lemon
  • 1 quart Water
  • 1 large Cucumber
  • 1 tbsp Stevia powder Dissolved in hot water first
  • 24 oz Gin

Equipment

  • Pitcher

Method
 

  1. Juice lemons into a large pot, and add carcass too
  2. Add Stevia solution and muddle for a few minutes
  3. Add water and stir
  4. Peel cucumbers vertically, then slice very thinly
  5. Strain lemons into a pitcher, and add cucumber slices
  6. Steep for at least one hour, then add Gin and serve

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 fl oz Absinthe
  • 3/4 fl oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 fl oz Rye Whiskey
  • 2 dashes Bitters

Method
 

  1. Rinse a mixing glass with Absinthe, and discard
  2. fill mixing glass with ice, and add remaining ingredients
  3. Stir for 30 seconds
  4. Strain into a cocktail glass

  • 3/4 fl oz Rye Whiskey
  • 3/4 fl oz Brandy
  • 3/4 fl oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Benedictine Liqueur
  • 1 dash Bitters Typically Angostura
  • 1 dash Peychaud's Bitters

Method
 

  1. Combine ingredients in a large glass with ice
  2. Stir to mix
  3. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass
  4. Garnish with a cherry

  • 1/2 fl oz Dry Vermouth Fleming specifies Lillet
  • 1 twist Lemon peel

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Half fill the shaker with ice
  2. Add all ingredients and shake vigorously until very cold
  3. Strain into a chilled glass
  4. Squeeze and twist the peel over the glass to express the oil, then drop in the glass
